Finally a family vacation with almost all of us!

So I guess its tradition to goto the summer house when RM’s get back. So we took off Friday morning and we drove straight there. The first pictures are of the cabin. I will add more pics of our trip as soon as i get them off my camera. I forgot i took any pictures. I love it down there. Its called torrey UT its 12 miles from the national park called Capitol Reef. So RED ROCKS and cliffs everywhere around this place.
It was perfect weather and we immediately jumped on the 4 wheelers and wrode off. That evening we high tailed it to a new trail that my uncle took us to last 4th of july. It was kinda far and we got lost, but eventually found it. We dinked around for a while and then wrode the devils backbone. Saweet name eh? Even sweeter trail. We dinked around a bit too long and had to ride back in the dark, but thankfully we had the lights working on all the 4 wheelers so we were fine. Saturday we went back to the same spot and played A LOT, then we went all the way down the backbone and down to the end of the trail. That got a bit tricky but its nothing we couldn’t handle. My brothers did really well on their atv’s and I had Brandon on mine so we weighed even more. We tried to go up this one path and it was ridiculously steep so we tried to go around the rock that was impeding our progress and that was probably worse than the other route. Remind you that these are not 4x4’s they are racing 4 wheelers. LOL. So we finally got back to devils backbone and aaron realized that he left his jacket at the end. So I ditched Brandon with aaron to ride around purple mountain til we got back and brian and I sped off like crazy flying through the trails now that I was solo I could go big J wow that was a lot of fun. We got down and back in about 35-40 minutes, of course we dinked around a few times. But we got back and I messed around, as the video denotes below, on the purple mountain, I would almost kiss with my tires, the devils backbone, but we are talking hills of probably 200 ft + high. It was so cool. When we got back to the house I was talking to my mom about how many trails there are up there and she said it would be neat to pack our bags and go on a few days adventure in those mtns. Most definitely I said, we would have to rent some 4x4s to carry the luggage but no problem J we are talking about mountain ranges open to ATV trails, so awesome! We have a pretty good size lot down there and my grandpa asked one of his neighbors to fill in all the rocks and put dirt over everything so we could have a trail to ride around. So we altered his design with the help of modern technology, THE SHOVEL, and built us a jump :) We hope to have more soon but we are waiting for the backhoe!
We went on Sunday while our clothes were drying, to a place called the goosenecks in the national park of Capitol Reef. They are so pretty. I want to go back in dec or jan and go hiking down them. My aunt and uncle took us down some pretty neat trails once that we had to get wet cause you had to slide down this rock slide into the pool, so we kept sliding over and over. It was a lot of fun. I hope to do that a lot next year. Then we took off and drove back home. What an awesome weekend. I took homework but only took my test that was due and I rested and played the rest of the weekend. I love that place!
This video is of me kissing the backbone from purple mountain.

Welcome Home Elder Augason

So this week brian came home from his mission. It was really weird being on this end of the spectrum. I thought it kinda cool, til we got into presidents office and he said almost the exact same thing and then he told him to take off his tag…I was balling my eyes out! I did not like that moment one bit when I was a missionary, it was so hard to not cry out loud cause no one else was. I guess it didn’t hit anyone else but me as hard the 2nd time around. I miss it so much! So i decided to put a picture of my first tag :)

My becoming a man!

Ok so the same Friday as my date, I became a man! Yeah that’s right, you all guessed it, I GOT MY OWN CELL PHONE! Angie and the rest of the family convinced me silently that I needed to get the same phone. I am so glad that I did. We went in there and the guy had no problem selling me on anything cause I had already decided, LOL! Angie got the hook up, getting told about some awesome programs that you can add to your blackberry and they are so sweet. So we got the hook ups and then went back to angies and hung out and played with the phones a little longer and then I took off to go on my date. I had to promise that I would not play with my phone on the date, and I have to say why would I?

Marks last race

Went out to marks race and watched his last one of the season. It was good and sunny and pretty warm. I had been freakin out for the last week, kinda, because my program for slideshows kept failing and I couldn’t get it to work. So I had to learn a new program and it wouldn’t work properly so I couldn’t put any music to it so I just had to iprovise. After marks race we had a surprise party and we played the video, which mark watched over and over, and we watched and listened to music. We also had the great Elke lasagna. Oh man was that good! Then Kristin and Aaron put into plans by showing everyone else this secret date I was going to go on this next weekend.

Some random videos of cali

Return to California

The man of the hour. My best friend in the mission Elder Peralta. We served around each other fro 3 months in Santa Maria, 6 weeks in oxnard and 3 more months in So Bakes. I love him to death.
Elder Barney. He served in taft and i would visit them about once a week to speak to all the people that they couldnt.
This was after st. george and before cedar city i think.

The drop!
We stopped along the way and wrode the rollercoaster and ate at the buffet. it was freaking fast and awesome. 230+ ft freefall and 90 mph :)
Random pic but oh so good. I dont remember taking it but dang that is so cool lookin.
Us at toppers pizza! BBQ pizza

This is elder Tatua. he is going home in a few weeks to tonga. He taught our zone the hawka and we did it for the christmas conferance infront of everyone :)
We switched about every 300 miles or so.

This was the last spot on ventura soil that i stood as Elder Augason. I got a bit teary eyed standing there again. It was a good sight to see.
On the way back home.

Well we took off and once we hit barstow we did what tradition has it. Broke down. lost the master cylinder in my transmission. Lamans terms that means no clutch so i had to shift with out it. Which it worked but on labor day weekend at 5:30 pm who is going to fix my truck. Well if you pay them enough they will get the job done. 700 bucks and 3.78 hours later we were on the road. Saw Hermana Madrigal from my last area and then took off on saturday for the coast. We shoppedin San Luis Obispo for about 1 hr then took off for the beach. We changed in the truck to the swimsuits and ran down to the beach. Tried to surf but got beat up pretty bad, but it was sooooo much fun. BTW we went to pismo beach. Then at 6pm we met up with members and we showered the salt water off and then went out to eat at a chinese restauraunt. Then we tried to watch movies but we were so beat from driving and swimming that we could not stay awake. It was very weird sleeping and showering in daves house. Sunday we made the suprise visit to the branch and had a good time. Then we went back to the beach. Nothing new cept that we went further out and swam with a sea lion and this time dave let us borrow his boogey board which was a blast. So we both got thrown around like rag dolls. The waves were crashin over the top of my head and it was really tough to get out to the waves, LOL. Monday we m et up with Elder Peralta and his companion in ventura and took them out to eat at toppers pizza. it was good. I talked with an old companion for like 5 min on the phone and the pizza was gone. WOW. It was so nice to see my mexican :) We laughed and cried and said goodbye again. But its ok cause i am going to mexico next year for like 9 days LOL We ate at In n Out twice once in cali and once in st. george 10 pm monday nite and then we rolled into the driveway at 3am tuesday morning. WOW it was a rough day but we made it safe. Enjoy

Kennecot Coppermine-a different view of SLC

I got gutsy and went to the top of the mtns behind the copper mine. I never have been there before and i have to say it was freakin amazing. i was amazed at how my little truck did in the dirt. I am needing new tires but it handled fairly well with all the hills and bumpyness. It was so neat up there, but it was my first bit of coldness since i have been home and i was shivering soooo much, but now i am ok. No worries here. I could see provo and downtown slc. it was a panoramic view to die for. The mine is HUGE and is lit up all over the place. Also a little bit of tooele was bisible from the mtns.

My Sister

I think that this has to be one of my FAVORITE photos this year! Love ya ang.

Hermano Papworth

I just found this video. The 2nd counselor in the branch presidency. He was awesome! It was actually his sons talent. he was playing the piano while dad acted the song out. Their whole family was musically gifted it was cool.

A dang good day

So i dont know if this text will show up correctly.

I had ordered a jacket a few weeks ago but it was a bit big on me so i went down 2 sizes...dangerous yeah i know. But guess what it fits perfectly. I am so excited for this cause i am shrinking. Its so awesome. Soon i will be to exactly what i want to be at :)
So yesterday i soooo badly wanted to just go for a ride. Work had been stressfull cause our system has most likely crashed which means lots more of repetitive work that i already did i have to do again!
So i did. I went for a ride. :)
I only had planned to goto snowbird cause mark goes there often and i love the canyon. So i did and thats where these bottom 3 pictures are from. The top 3 are from emigration canyon when i decided to give my butt a rest. So then i got down from snowbird and i decided that i wasnt done yet and didnt need to be ne where til 8pm so i went exploring behind the university of utah. So i went past the zoo, not knowing where it would take me and 2 hours later i was done riding. So what happend? I later found out i drove through Emigration canyon which was GEORGEOUS i loved every minute of it. It was still the city to me but it was hidden and secret. SOOOOO cool! Then i ended up at Little Dell Resevoir and continued up the canyon til i found out i was in east canyon. I wrode to the private East Canyon resort and then turned back. So then i connected with i-80 and wrode to west valley then to home. 122 miles :) i used 1.87 gal of gas so i got 67.77 MPG talk about AWESOME. I love my bike and exploring. I was laughing and had such a good time yesterday cause i didnt know what was around the corner. What a perfect day. Then i went to the party and saw someone which made it even a better day. Full of suprises this day was :)

My Bike...its sad!

So i was sick on mon and tues so i went to go get some medicine the doc told me to get and when i was coming back home it started to sprinkle so i raced home and 2 miles before my house my chain bursts on my motorcycle. Then i call my bro and hes in lehi, so it starts to just POOOOOORRRRRRR rain and i got SOAKIN wet and had to push my bike to the high school to ditch it and get it later. so someone gives me a ride home :) So i get back to my bike later with the truck and its not parked the way that i parked it. I thought nothing of it. Well wednesday i am at work and get a call from the West Jordan police saying that my bike was a victim in a hit and run accident. I was like well that explains it. So it has some damage but mainly cosmetics but i am taking it in just in case. the thing i get is the way that i had it parked it was in the corner away from any other cars and the guy backed into it? i think not. He was trying to steal it and knocked it over and people saw him and he fled. Well the police let me know he has a warrant for a dui and 2 hit and runs that day. Sucks to be him!

My Room!

Its finally done...Well enough that i can move in. We invested in a new bed :) its a captains bed and has 8 drawers so i can put my stuff in them and not have to have a dresser. It sits high and is all springs so its way comfy i love it. I had the best nite sleep since i got home almost 5 months ago. My room just lacks the doors and its all done :) i am so excited. Hope you all enjoy the pics.

My room

Pics to come. My mom worked hard today to get the painting done. I am not a good painter and this being the final coat i didnt want to mess things up. We just have to do the trim work and base boards and door frames and door and its all done. Then i am going to cut up some old carpet and lay it down and then i move in. ALSO we are ready to paint the bathroom and then put in the floor and then all the vanities and floor boards. ITS ALMOST DONE i am so excited!

My first Ride

Sure i wrode it to work and back the first and 2nd day but today...wow! I met up with a mission buddy and we went for a little ride out in lehi to orem. But i made the trip to orem and back. 70 miles round trip. My butt hurts like i fell 10 ft and landed right on my rear but i am sure with all the ridin that i will do i will get used to it. Now all i need is someone to be the passenger and go with me :) It was definately just what i needed this weekend and i feel great. It was a bit scary on the freeway but i did ok. I just kept along with the traffic and all went well. I really enjoyed the quiet time and meditation it was really a good day :)

Happy Fathers Day at Snowbird Resort

We wrode the tram to the top and we played in the snow. Did i mention that i didnt know we were doing that? and i was wearing flip flops. My toes were red and frozen.
My family on my dads side came up and played with us. My bro and my uncle went nuts and started a huge snowball fight. It was fun to watch but i didnt want to participate. it was also the last ski day of the season so everyone was wearing summer clothes on the resort and skiing down the mountain. Such a funny day. Lots of sun too.

1982 KAWASAKI 550 LTD

Isnt she a beaut. Shes maroon and she has a really tough engine.
The body work is almost perfect. it was downed once but didnt do much but some polishin on the frame. I love it!
I did it i bought a bike. The guy had an offer but he didnt have cash til monday so i drove out to provo as fast as i could and we bought it on the spot. Its soooo awesome. And the best part is today Vern found a wire unplugged that was taped up in elec tape. So its soon to be in SLC and i will show all who want to see it. Man i am good!

Our weekend

We went to the west dessert this last weekend. We wrode 4 the motorcycles and shot bb guns, climbed to the top of the White Rock AKA cavern vern. It was windy but alot of fun. Brent aka Vern and i went down a different way and got down alot faster than the rest of the team. So we got down and we loaded up the potato gun and we shot that thing to the moon. It was rediculously awesome. I had never seen a potato gun and blake got the plans together and made it with spare parts he found at work. It was really alot of fun. I thought i got sun burned but i just went about 3 shades darker and i didnt peel so i was really excited. So brent took his bullet bike but left it 7 miles on the main road and got a ride from his friends in. So that friday night he wanted to go get the bike. So on one motorcycle and at dusk we took off. I could hardly see where we were going by time we got to the bike and it got cold. We played around with his bike for a minute or two trying to see how fast we could get it to go. Now that its on 4 cylinders i got up to just 50 mph and because it was pitch black i gave up. brent got it up to the 100's or more and then called it quits. Estimated 1/4 mile in 15 seconds. Not bad eh? His bike is sweet. So we raced each other back by the headlight of his bike the whole 7 miles on dirt road. We sang and made alot of jokes the entire way. I had a blast. He invited some wardie friends from BYU and they added to the excitement. We had smores and tin foil dinners. And the brinkerhoffs took their dog dash and he added to the excitement. He tore up the mountain when we were hikin and had a blast. But come sat afternoon he was pooped and hot. Any moment he had to get to the shade he did and really got excited to be in front of the a/c in the truck. WOW what a weekend. Angie made this really cool video. It obviously doesent highlight me but I didnt make it so what do you expect?

To plum or not to plum

SO blake and i have been planning for a while to join the pipefitters union. Well we finally last week went to north salt lake and talked to the program advisors. WOW what a process. I thought alot about how i felt when he was explaining the dedication and all thats involved. The worst part was when he explained that we wont know when we can actually get into the program. I would be at the bottom of the posibility list because i have no experience in that field. So i have thought and prayed about it and i am going to goto school and work on my business degree. I feel alot calmer and comfortable with this business program. I know its the path that i should be on right now. It wont take as long and i can do things that i know i know how to do. PLUS at my job right now i am learning alot of the managerial and financial aspects of businesses so things seem to be fitting together in this, my puzzle of life. So i will hopefully be at the University of Utah the spring of 2010 to get my bach and then my masters. I am so excited and cant wait to figure out what program i will specify in.

My plane

So i had battling whether or not to get a plane. I had wanted to get one before my mission but the cost was too great. So i started to look around and to investigate them. So finally on my lunch break one day i took off for the hobby shop and looked around. I finally decided on this Slo-V parkzone flyer. It had all the needed parts to fly included and so it seemed the best. It is easier to break but cheaper to repair. So i can repair alot of it with tape and toothpicks. So we had some problems but who didnt on their first flights. More videos to come.

Thought for my life

"smile big and wide...it makes people wonder what you are up to" --not sure

So i love this quote. I used it alot on my mission and it always semmed to work. If i can get someone to smile in the day then my mission is complete. I still live by this rule. Its something i saw my grandpa do. He always was smiling good or bad and trying to make the best out of situations. I love him and miss him alot but i know that he would want me to continue to smile and make the best out of everyday. Once today is over its gone forever. I only can look towards and change the future. Man dont i sound smart.

Difficulty

So life is being really difficult. i got me head scans back and there is no problem with cancer or tumors. DARN! now that may seem a bit weird but i really thought that i had something wrong with me and now they dont know what it is. So its getting worse and they have me on meds not knowing what i have. I dont get it. its been forever and i swear theres something wrong but they say no.
Life as a RM should be better. i guess its pretty sweet. i am not complaining but i am just trying to figure things out. Its rough. I dont know what i am supposed to do and what i do want to do has no definate time or guarantee. We are trying to join the pipefitters or hvac or electrical union but we just got word that it could take 2 months to 2 years to find us a place to start working at as an aprentice. I am so down now cause i thought it would be faster. It most likely will be faster but theres the chance that i have no experience that i wont get on that quick. But if i am an electricioner then i already have friends in the system from scouts and they can get me some start work. I dont know what to do.
Then theres girls...LOL thats a big topic and i wont cover it but i would like to say they cost time and that is something that i cant seem to find around here. We live really far away from the city and thats where most of my people are. So my best friends live farther away and any one that i used to hang out with now has new friends. So i have almost no buddy cept for my sister and blake. Everyone else just seems to be soooo busy in their lives that we cant do anything ne more. its fine with me i dont want them to drop everything and be my buddies all the time but i am just missin out and i dont have anyone to do that stuff with that is not married. LOL But i do love the friends that i do have and i am thankful for them.
I got a remote control airplane and the 2nd day i crashed it. So i got new parts and they arrived broken...well one did. So they are sending me more supplies for free. i was ticked but at least i can fly tomorrow...cross fingers that all goes well. You can see footage of our first try at flying as soon as i get the videos from angie.

Well i like this blog stuff. Hope i didnt bore ya. now time to sleep and see if my head will stop pounding like a hammer :(

Settlers

So i dont have pics yet...i am still trying to figure out this technology stuff since i have been back. i am getting the jist of it but its takin me a while to do it. So last saturday we played settlers of katan. It was alot of fun. i however did not win i was way behind and angie...of course...dominated the game. But we did introduce someone new to the game...Alina is now a knowledgable person of the game. Just like othello minutes to learn lifetime to master. This game is sooooo much fun. So then on sunday i went back over to the brinkerhoffs and we played the other version cities and knights. HOLY SMOKES that was a long game. Both games lasted til after midnight. But on sunday i left at 1230 and the tow truck was almost right to my truck to take it away. i would have been so ticked off had he taken it away. So back to the game. blake won this time. i had a very bad spot and didnt get cards nor moves the entire game. It was very slim pickins on both sides of the board. i think that 3 players had a lot to do with it...we coulda used 4 but she was busy at the moment and didnt want to come and play so shes excused. Ne way i suggest ne one who doesent have it to get it and we are more than willing to teach how to play.

I am legend

Man if i aint already afraid of the dark...FREAK! that was an awesome movie. i watched it by myself FINALLY on my laptop. I had a configuration problem and it wouldnt read my disc. So i used my intelligence...thank you google.com and i figure it out. I have to say that will smith is my all time favorite male actor. He does AMAZING clean awesome stuff and i am very impressed with this day and age. He said he wanted his career to be something that his kids could watch and not be embarassed about. Well i think hes accomplished that quite nice now.
So back to the movie. Those creatures were freaky. holy cow.

Mission Slide show #1

RM Week 1

Our summer house in Torrey Utah. Grandpa bought it as a get away and gathering place for the family. Many hours and many memmories have been made at this place. We have 4 wheelers and acres to play on. This was my 1st week home and what a way to break me in. We knew our dog would like it so we brought her along. What a long trip with limited space in the car but she loved every minute of it. "4 guys and their dog"

We kicked up alot of dust so masks were in order.
Shadows of me and my dog "cookie" i love my dog. It took her about 5 seconds to remember who i was. Mans best friend? Most definately...2nd to vern that is, sorry cookie.
